Hello, My name is Dakota Little and I am a junior geology major with a concentration in Hydrology. I began research with Dr.Gannon my first semester of college alongside Veronica Ferry and Gracie Erwin investigating runoff generation processes. Starting research my freshman year was a valuable experience that led me to continue research with Dr.Gannon, present at 2018 SE-GSA, and mentor other research students.
Currently, my research is on studying soil composition in a headwater catchment and its effects on water chemistry. Knowing the soil composition of our study catchment can help us understand why we see certain levels of elements in the different stream reaches. I hope to present this research at the 2019 SE-GSA conference as well as at 2019 AGU.
